DepEd Module Containing Anti-Government Propaganda Earned Criticisms Online
Photos of self-learning module distributed by the Department of Education (DepEd) containing anti-government propaganda earned criticisms online.
Earlier, the learning modules distributed by DepEd earned various reactions from the online community including known personalities over the malicious and wrong content. There continues to be an increase in shared inaccuracies about the module being used now that Filipinos are adjusting to the new learning style.
A Twitter user named Aaron Rebaldo shares a Grade 4 Filipino learning module in Cordova, Cebu. Photos show an editorial piece with a cartoon on how to “fight Duterte and his fascist government.”

Netizens were quick to react to the said photos. User with @JamieAlonzo could not help but ask: “The Philippine government funding NPA propaganda?” while @Fernand79971688 urged DepEd to look into it saying: “may mga reklamo. Ayusin niyo at bigyan ng pansin ang panawagan sa inyo… Umayos kayo!”
In a message sent to reporters, DepEd Public Service Affairs Director June Gudoy said that “DepEd is currently conducting an investigation and will impose appropriate penalties” regarding matters related to the module.
