Pasay Frontliners Positive For COVID-19 Following Sinovac Jab

PASAY FRONTLINERS POSITIVE – Fifteen medical workers at the Pasay General Hospital was positive for COVID-19 after receiving their first dose of Sinovac.

According to Inquirer, two doctors, four nurses, four nursing aides, one medical technologist, a pharmacist, and three administrative staff were asymptomatic or had mild symptoms. The new was announced by Dr. John Victor de Gracia, PCGH officer-in-charge, who also tested positive for COVID-19.

However, Gracia said that the virus “failed to fully impact their health“. Furthermore, he said that with any vaccine brand, there was always a chance of infection. Meanwhile, he emphasized that vaccines prevent you from developing severe symptoms that require hospitalization.

Moreover, the second vaccine dose would be given next week. But, due to the cases, Gracia issued a memorandum imposing a temporary closure of the PCGH’s hospital outpatient department. But, for the AstraZeneca shot, medical workers could expect to be inoculated during the last week of April.

Currently, Pasay has reported 10,814 cases of COVID-19. Of that number, 1,024 were considered active cases with 9,522 recoveries. Unfortunately, 268 people from Pasay succumbed to the deadly disease.
