West Visayas State University (WVSU), Central Philippine University (CPU), Iloilo Doctors College (IDC), and PHINMA-University of Iloilo (PHINMA-UI) are allowed to hold face-to-face classes, based on the report of Manila Bulletin.
“This will enable students to achieve key learning outcomes on specialized laboratory courses and hospital-based clinical internships, and provide additional manpower to the country’s health system,” said CHED chairperson Prospero De Vera III.

These face-to-face classes are only for third and fourth-year students taking health-related courses. These are Medicine, Nursing, Medical Technology/Medical Laboratory Science, Physical Therapy, Midwifery, and Public Health courses.
“These schools have been inspected by CHED and their local government unit for their capacity to hold hands-on training and laboratory classes for 3rd and 4th year students,” he added.
Meanwhile, there are 26 schools in Western Visayas that will conduct pilot testing of face-to-face classes for the 2021-2022 school year, according to the Department of Education (DepEd). However, DepEd Region 6 Director Ramir Uytico said it is only preparing since there is no go signal yet from President Duterte.
