It is true that Manny Pacquiao was told to set aside his future political plan?
Senator Manny Pacquiao allegedly received an order to pull back his plan to run for president in the 2022 elections.
Since last year, talks about the future political moves of the boxer-turned-politician have been circulating. His name is one of the top 10 in the list of presidential preference after several surveys were held.
In a recent video posted on social media, Pacquiao did not directly confirmed nor denied his rumored political plan. However, he stressed the qualities that he wants the next president of the Philippines need to have.
Despite talks about the upcoming election next year, Senator Manny said that addressing the COVD-19 problem is more important.
In a recent article by entertainment columnist Salve Asis in Pilipino Star Ngayon and Pang-Masa, she said that a “reliable source” revealed that Manny Pacquiao was ordered to set aside his aim to become the next president of the country.
“Diumano’y kinausap ng mga ‘kinauukulan’ ang boxing champion na ‘wag nang lumaban at itago na lang ang kanyang pera,” Asis wrote in her article. The columnist added that because of this, Jinkee Paquiao, the wife of the Senator, will not be the next first lady yet.
Reportedly, Chinese businessman Jack Ma is backing the candidacy of Manny Pacquiao. The co-founder of Alibaba Group has been donating COVID-19 test kits in the Philippines through the Senator.
