The Manila city council is endorsing Star for all Season Vilma Santos for the National Artist award.

Vilma is one of the treasured members of the Philippine entertainment industry. Throughout her years in show business, she has proven that deserved all the recognitions under her name.

With this, councilors of the capital city of the Philippines wanted her to receive the National Artist recognition, based on the article in The Latest Chika.

Councilors Pamela Fugoso-Pascual and Johanna Maureen Nieto-Rodriguez are the principal authors of resolution 53, series of 2021. This cited the achievement of the actress-turned politician when it comes to her career in the world of entertainment, as well as her efforts in doing public service.

“Santos-Recto is not only one of the first actresses of her generation but also the epitome of inclusive leadership in public service for being a Presidential Lingkod Bayan awardee as savior of Taal Lake, the first woman mayor of Lipa City, and Governor of Batangas, as well as the first elected representative of sixth district of Batangas where she has authored significant pieces of legislation for the welfare of Filipino families,” the councilors said.

They also stressed the numerous recognition of the Star for all Season in her entire showbiz career that would support their nomination for her to receive the Order of National Artist award.

The councilors also said that it is their honor to nominate the veteran actress for the said award as Manila is her birthplace. A copy of the resolution will be sent to the office of Vilma Santos who is now serving as a Representative of Lipa, Batangas, as well as to the office of Manila City Mayor Isko Moreno.
