Queen Elizabeth released a statement about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle
Queen Elizabeth II, through a statement from Buckingham Palace, reacted to the controversial interview that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle did with Oprah Winfrey.
The recent interview on CBS in which the Duke and Duchess of Sussex talked about the reason behind their step back as senior members of the royal family and the circumstances surrounding that decision became a trending topic online.
In the interview, the royal couple revealed the alleged discrimination that they experienced especially on the part of the former actress. It was also revealed that their son Archie received racist comment even before he was born.
For Prince Harry, he is glad that he got out from the trap that has been incarcerating him for the longest time, as well as his father Prince Charles and his brother Prince Williams.
The revelations that the Duke and Duchess revealed through Oprah Winfrey garnered various reactions online and on different media platforms. Some took their side and sympathize with them while there were those who said that they were lying.
Queen Elizabeth, through Buckingham Palace’s statement, has this reaction to the controversial interview. “The whole family is saddened to learn the full extent of how challenging the last few years have been for Harry and Meghan,” the Palace said.
The statement further said that the issue raised particularly about “race” will be addressed privately. “Harry, Meghan, and Archie will always be much loved family members,” the statement added.
Meanwhile, during the interview, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle also shared good news. The couple revealed that they are going to have a baby girl.
