Residents in 2 Manila Barangays Not Allowed to Go Out in Next 4 Days

MANILA BARANGAYS – Amid the COVID-19 pandemic in the Philippines, two (2) barangays in the capital city were declared as “critical zones”.

The fight against the COVID-19 pandemic in the Philippines is not yet over. The country is just one of the over 200 nations and territories facing the said huge challenge now that has already taken a lot of lives.

In PH, the educational system adapted major changes amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Instead of face-to-face classes, the delivery of lessons now is under blended learning – with the use of modules and online classes.

Also, the school year was not able to start on time. Instead of June, the opening of the classes was moved to October last year due to the threats of the pandemic.

Community quarantine measures are still up in the Philippines now. There are still new cases of COVID-19 recorded daily and the authorities push for continuous implementation of the protocols to prevent a surge in the cases.

In the next four (4) days, two (2) Manila barangays will be under a lockdown as they were declared as “critical zones”. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, there are Barangay 352 in Sta. Cruz and Barangay 725 in Malate.

The said Barangay in Sta. Cruz currently has 12 active cases while Barangay 725 in Malate has 14 active cases. Based on the report, the said Manila barangays will be under an enhanced community quarantine (ECQ) from March 11 to March 14.

Aside from the said barangays, two (2) hotels in Barangay 699 will also be under a lockdown. These accommodation facilities have 17 active cases.

In the executive order of Manila Mayor Isko Moreno, only the health workers, the service, utility and essential workers, military personnel, and the essential workers are allowed to go out.
