Message of Pres. Duterte for Vice Pres. Robredo
DUTERTE – Philippine President Rodrigo Roa Duterte gave a message for Vice Pres. Leni Robredo anew over the COVID-19 vaccine.
The Philippines is one of the countries affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. A lot of people died and the pandemic has brought a lot of changes in the lives of the people.
Community quarantine measures are still up in the country now. It is already a protocol that everyone must wear a face mask and practice social distancing outdoors. In fact, most establishments also require the use of a face shield.
As gatherings are prohibited in the fight against the spread of the disease, schools are using blended learning in delivering their lessons to the students. It is through modules and online classes as face-to-face classes are not allowed.

Also in public transportation, social distancing must be practiced. There is a reduced capacity in jeepneys and other public vehicles to give way for social distancing inside the transportation.
Meanwhile, what many people awaits is finally here – the COVID-19 vaccine. The Philippines has recently received 600,000 donated shots of the vaccine developed by China.
However, truths be told that a lot of people are hesitant to get vaccinated amid fears of the possible side effects of the vaccine. Vice Pres. Leni Robredo previously expressed that Pres. Rodrigo Roa Duterte must be one of those who will receive the vaccine first to boost public confidence on the program.
The statement of Vice Pres. Robredo did not sit well with Pres. Duterte. Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, the Chief Executive accused the Vice President of chattering without doing anything as she allegedly wants to be “relevant”.
“Ikaw, sige ka ng salita diyan. Wala ka namang ginagawa. Sige ka issue-issue ng statement. You know [why]? Because you want to be relevant here. Gusto mo sumali sa laro na para pakinggan ka rin,” the President said.
Based on the report, Pres. Duterte added that Vice Pres. Robredo seems to be in a rush. He expressed that he is going to follow the health protocol and would abide by the doctor on the vaccine brand that can be used for his age.
Currently, the President is 75 years old. According to him, the Vice President is suspecting that he has already received the vaccine so she wants him “to go to a trap”. She has yet to react to his statement.
