Xian Lim talked about his robbery experience
Actor-host Xian Lim addressed those people who are victim-blaming him for the robbery incident that happened in his house.
Last January, Xian revealed through his social media post that unidentified people broke into his house and stole several items. November last year, the actor had his house tour vlog.
‘House Tour’ is a common vlog content for celebrity vloggers and several showbiz personalities already did this. Because of what happened to Xian, some people blamed his posts or his vlog for why it happened.
In line with this, the actor-host reacted. “People are always going to find someone to blame. I did read people saying it’s not right for vloggers to reveal too much of what’s inside their houses, but really, it’s not right to shift the blame onto the victim,” he said, based on the article in Inquirer Entertainment.
He stressed that the focus should be on the people who did wrong and in his case, they are the robbers. For Xian Lim, vloggers have the right what to feature in their vlogs. He added that creative people should not be barred on what they want to show as their output.
On the other hand, he said that the only thing he can do now is to make sure that it will not happen again as it is his responsibility to keep his family safe.
“You can never be too careful. That’s the moral of the story,” Xian Lim stressed as he said that it will just be a waste of time to look for the robbers after he already filed the case.
