Bulacan Governor and PFA Expresses Misgivings Over Total Firecracker Ban
Bulacan Governor and the Philippine Fireworks Association expressed misgivings over a total ban on firecrackers in the country.
On Tuesday (March 9, 2021), Philippine Fireworks Association President Joven Ong expressed his desire to improve the regulations of firecracker sales in the country instead of demolishing the industry.
The Senate panel discussed the bills regarding the usage and sales of firecracker products in the country to resolve those concerns. The officials want to safeguard the quality of the product before selling it to the market.
“Kung gusto po nating mawala po ang nasasaktan, tignan po natin kung yun listahan ng DOH (Department of Health). Ano po ba ang nagdudulot diyan at solusyonan po natin ‘yon nang hindi po pinapatay ang industriya,” Ong said.
Ong said that businessmen and entrepreneurs in the industry find it hard to survive especial if there is a change of government officials. He also said that other country do not talk about ban but on how to regulate the products properly.
