IATF’s Decision to Approve Uniform Travel Protocols for All LGUs “Concerning”, OCTA Research Says

The OCTA Research group said that the Inter-Agency Task Force’s decision to approve uniform travel protocols for all LGUs.

On Saturday (February 27, 2021), OCTA Research Team Dr. Guido David said that the decision of IATF for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases to approve the uniform travel protocols is concerning.

David said that several areas are still struggling with their battle against the coronavirus pandemic. He also explained that the government should be extra careful with their border controls.

“We have to be careful about ‘yung mga border controls natin kasi karamihan kaya tayo nagkakaroon ng second wave or another increase, is because hindi tayo masyadong strict sa border controls,” David said.

The group also called for stricter rules and regulations for travel to avoid the possible transmission of the coronavirus pandemic. He just want to impose stricter measures to prevent the second wave.

The IATF Resolution No. 101 states tyaht travelers would undergo RT-PCR test and would not be required to undergo COVID-19 testing unless required by the local government unit.

Currently, the Department of Health reported that the Philippines has a total of 571,327 COVID-19 cases.
