Harry Roque reveals President Duterte is sad and concern over the PNP-PDEA misencounter and shootout.

PNP-PDEA MISENCOUNTER – Presidential spokesperson Harry Roque revealed President Rodrigo Duterte’s reaction over PNP and PDEA shootout.

A shooting incident between the Philippine National Police (PNP) and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) has occurred on early Wednesday evening near a mall along Commonwealth Avenue in Quezon City. It appeared that it was a “misencounter” between operatives that resulted in three fatalities.

The killed were policemen while there other four – a police officer and three PDEA operatives – who were badly injured according to Metro Manila police chief Major Gen. Vicente Danao. He also spoke that whoever is at fault or the reason behind the unfortunate incident is still under investigation.

Senator Risa Hontiveros said that there’s a “dramatic lack of coordination: between them and gross negligence saying that their intelligence funds are quite huge for it to happen. She then revealed that PNP has a 2021 intelligence fund of Php 856 million and Php 500 million for the PDEA.

And in recent press conference, Presidential spokesperson Harry Roque revealed that President Rodrigo Duterte was concerned over the unfortunate shootout. Accordingly, he also promised to give justice to those who lost their lives.

“Ang in-assure niya, gaya ng nangyari sa Sulu, ay we will get to the bottom of this incident, magkakaroon po ng partial investigation at justice will be done,” he said.

PNP spokesman Brig. Gen. Ildebrandi Usana revealed that PNP chief Gen. Debold Sinas has assigned the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) to lead the investigation. Meanwhile, the National Bureau of Investigation will also do their own probe.
