Lea Salonga Marks 50th birthday W/ Cute Joke on IG
LEA SALONGA – Theater actress Lea Salonga turned 50 on February 22 and on the eve of her birthday she took to IG to share a cute joke.
Filipina theater actress Lea Salonga came to prominence after playing the role of Kim in the musical Miss Saigon. She made her musical theatre debut at the age of 18. First was in the West End production and then on Broadway.
In 1993, Lea went to star as Eponine in the Broadway production of Les Miserables. Then in 2002, she played Mei-Li in the Broadway version of ‘Flower Drum Song.’
Lea Salonga also became the singing voice of Fa Mulan in the Disney movie ‘Mulan’ and Princess Jasmin in ‘Aladdin.’ For this, the Pinay singer was recognized as a Disney Legend back in 2011.
The Broadway star is celebrated her 50th birthday on Monday, February 22. On the eve of her birthday, she took to her IG account to share a joke.
“I’m not 50. I’m 18 with 32 years of experience,” read the text on her IG post.

In the caption, Lea Salonga celebrated becoming a golden girl. She wrote, “50 today!!! Woohoo!!!” She also thanked all those who remembered to greet her on her birthday.
“To everyone that sent a greeting, THANK YOU!!! I’m a tad overwhelmed, but in an oh so good way! Truly, this girl is hella grateful,” she added.
Netizens also celebrated Lea Salonga’s birthday. The global theater actress eventually became a trending topic on Philippine Twitter, where her fans have been posing greeting for her. As of this writing, her joke on Instagram has generated 57,332 hearts and 5,339 comments of birthday wishes.
