PAGASA – Here are the following latest updates from the state weather bureau PAGASA, on this day February 18, 2021 (Thursday).

The 4 AM update from the state weather bureau says that the center of Tropical Depression Auring was last spotted at 715 kilometers East Southeast of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur.

Auring is packed with maximum sustained winds of 55 kilometers per hour near the center and gusts of up to 70 kilometers per hour. It is moving slowly westward, according to the official website.

The trough of Tropical Depression Auring will bring cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms over Eastern Visayas, Caraga and Davao Region.

Possible flash floods or landslides my occur due to moderate with at times heavy rains.

Meanwhile, the northeast monsoon or amihan will bring cloudy skies with rains over Cagayan Valley, Aurora, Quezon and Bicol Region. Possible flash floods or landslides may occur due to moderate with at times heavy rains.

Amihan will also bring partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains over Metro Manila, the rest of Luzon and the rest of Visayas.

The rest of Mindanao will face partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to localized thunderstorm. Possible flash floods or landslides may occur due to severe thunderstorms.

Based on the website, for the forecast wind and coastal water condition, Northern Luzon will face strong winds that are moving in the northeast direction while facing rough coastal waters.

The rest of Luzon, and the eastern section of Visayas and Mindanao will face moderate to strong winds that are moving in the northeast to northwest direction while facing moderate to rough coastal waters.
