General Luna Government Imposes Curfew, Liquor Ban Due To COVID-19

GENERAL LUNA – The government of General Luna, Quezon has imposed curfew and liquor ban following the town’s closure due to COVID-19.

According to Inquirer, the town’s municipal hall will remain closed until Wednesday, November 25.

The town mayor Matt Florido said that local government officials, municipal inter-agency task force and barangay officials held an emergency meeting on Monday and decide to close the town hall.

There were eight recorded new COVID-19 cases, which is the town’s highest single-day tally. Among the new cases a male municipal employee and three female local government health care workers.

The local government announced the temporary suspension of all transactions at the hall early Monday and ordered all workers and employees not to report to work.

There is still aggressive contact tracing ongoing with along with thorough disinfection of the municipal hall for the safety of the public and employees.

Based on the report, authorities also placed curfew hours from 8 PM to 5 AM for those who are 18 year of age and below, and 10 PM to 5 AM for those above 18.

Furthermore, the local government also ordered a liquor ban which starts about November 23 up to December 4.

There is also prohibition of swimming and outings along the coast of Tayabas Bay, playing basketball and volleyball.

There is a total of 27 COVID-19 cases in General Luna at the Quezon Bondoc Peninsula district.
