Passi Iloilo Imposes ECQ Until February 11 Due To Rise In COVID Cases
PASSI ILOILO UNDER ECQ – Passi City in Iloilo province is now under the strictest quarantine level in the Philippines due to a rise in coronavirus cases.
Passi has become among the first cities to impose an ECQ in 2021. According to an article from GMA, the quarantine period would last until February 11, 2021.
Unfortunately, the city has had a massive spike of COVID-19 cases just within this week. Based on data from local government units, Passi had recorded more than 166 new cases since Wednesday.

Furthermore, most of these cases were market vendors as well as people they came in close contact with. This raised concerns of a possible spread as buyers come and go to markets to buy their needs.
Due to this, Passi City Mayor Stephen Palmares said:
Nag-decide tayo na ilagay sa ECQ o enhanced community quarantine ang lungsod ng Passi dahil almost 80% na ng mga barangay ang na-saturate ng COVID-19,
Along with this, Passi imposed a 7:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. curfew. Additionally, residents who wish to leave their homes for necessities must present a quarantine pass. Meanwhile, non-residents are barred from entry to the city.
