Man Newly Freed from Jail Snatches Cellphone and Stabbed His Victim Arrested

A former detainee man who was newly freed from being imprison arrested again by police after he snatches a cellphone and stabbed its owner.

In a report of GMA News, a man who recently received his freedom from being a convict brought back to prison just after he snatched the cellphone and stabbed his victim in Manila. In the suspect’s defense, he did not find a sensible job so he committed the crime.

“Wala po kasi akong matinong trabaho sir, wala pong nagtitiwala sa akin kaya po ako gumagawa ng gano’ng bagay,” said Labdin.

In CCTV footage, it can be seen the victim in an alley in Barangay 417 chasing the suspect, Joemarie Labdin, on Tuesday midnight. The victim did not catch up with the suspect and later he discovered that the suspect had stabbed him in his side.

During a follow-up operation by the police, Labdin was caught in a nearby barangay, and the stolen cellphone was recovered from him. Based on the report, the victim positively identified him as still recovering at the hospital.

According to Police Major Val Valencia, Lacson PCP Commander of Sampaloc Police, the victim earned two stab wounds on the side and one on the left chest. It is good that he was not injured, said the doctor.

It was found out that the suspect was only released after being jailed for stealing a bicycle. He was also previously imprisoned for drugs. The suspect is facing charges of theft and stabbing.
