Young Thief With Several Complaints Released Becuase of Minor Protection Act
YOUNG THIEF – a man who is facing multiple complaints due to robbery elicited reactions online after he was released because he is a minor.
Nowadays, syndicates are brave enough to use young people or minors to carry out their wicked plans and do their evil-doings. Many reports of stealing and snatching involved minors.
They are brave because they are said to be safe due to the law in the Philippines that protects the rights of minors or children. According to the law, minors who have been arrested cannot be jailed, instead, they will be turned over to the social welfare department.
On Facebook, a disappointed netizen, Andrea Caryl Manas, exposes a robbery incident that involves a minor who stole her valuables. He was also the same thief who rushed to their car 3-years ago.
According to her, the young lad was repeatedly caught for the same reasons, which is is breaking into houses and stealing things that they could sell. But even though he has been a suspect of a robbery, facing a number of complaints and lawsuits filed, it will only be worthless because of his minority.
The minor arrested was only scolded and sermoned by the authorities. He was later released and turned over to the local social welfare department.
“Ito yung magnanakaw na pumasok sa bahay namin habang tulog kaming maganak nung December. According to him may kasama daw siya at apat sila. As per brgy, madami na din reklamo at kaso sa batang to pero nakakawala/pinakakawalan daw,” the victim wrote in his post.
She also said that he has almost no fear of robbed shops, they even travel to other places to steal. The minor has been previously reported for stealing cellphones in the Muslim market, which is newly open.
