Passenger in Davao Who Faked Swab Test Result Found Positive with Virus
A stubborn passenger arrived Davao who present swab test results he faked later found positive with the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
People are now allowed to travel in different part of the country under the strict implementation of safety and health protocols against COVID-19. Among the important documents that tourists must show is their COVID-19 test result.
In order to enter the province or city, tourists need to show a negative result for viruses such as the RT-PCR test or swab test. However, the COVID-19 swab test here in the country costs from P3,500 to P8,000, and because of its expensive cost, many residents choose to fake results just to pursue trips.
Recently, a passenger on a plane to Davao allegedly showed a fake swab test result when he arrived at Francisco Bangoy International Airport. Authorities immediately discovered that the negative RT-PCR test result of Frederick Panol Grande was falsified.
“An email from the testing center proved that he faked the result,” the Davao local government said in a statement. Apart from the fake results of the COVID-19 test, the address and contact number he declared were also incorrect.

According to the airport’s health monitoring team, they confirmed that Grande was positive for COVID-19; contrary to what is stated in his fake swab test result.
Apart from him, 33 have been caught showing fake RT-PCR test results in Davao City, according to Angel Sumagaysay, chief of the Davao City public safety and security command center.
Anyone caught forging documents such as a swab test result will be charged with violating Republic Act 11332 or the mandatory reporting of notifiable diseases and health events of the public health concern act.
