2 Tourist Headed to Boracay Arrested for Presenting Fake RT-PCR Test

Philippine National Police (PNP) arrested two tourist headed to Boracay after presenting fake RT-PCR test before entering the island.

RT-PCR test results are one of the important requirements when you are planning for a vacation in the Philippines ‘ famous tourist destination Boracay. This is to prevent the spreading of contagious coronavirus disease (COVID-19).

Acting Malay Mayor Floribar Bautista announced in a phone interview that two tourists arrived from Metro Manila on December 29. Tourist present negative RT-PCR test to the authorities.

According to the report of GMA News, the test result of the unidentified tourist was found to be fake. It was learned after being verified at the clinic in Manila that allegedly issued a coronavirus test result and said that the document was fake.

The two tourists are currently quarantined at the Aklan Training Center in Kalibo and an RT PCR test will be conducted there. Authorities are set to charge the two suspects.

On December 7, six tourists from Makati City were charged by the authorities after being caught presenting a fake RT PCR test at the Caticlan Jetty Port. They gave fake swab test results in a bid to enter Boracay Island. Unfortunately for them, they were quickly arrested after authorities found out their documents were merely photocopied.
