33 Davao Oriental Hospital Staff Contract COVID-19
DAVAO ORIENTAL HOSPITAL – A hospital in Mati City is under temporary closure after 33 of its staff contracted COVID-19.
Philippines is one of the countries that recorded cases of COVID-19. This coronavirus disease became a pandemic in just a few months since it was first recorded in China.
Over 200 countries and territories across the globe have logged cases of COVID-19. It brought a lot of changes on the way of living of a lot of people and the society as a whole.
In PH, it is now a protocol to wear a face mask and practice social distancing when going outdoors. Classes are also under blended learning now as there are still threats under face-to-face classes.

The fight against COVID-19 is not yet over. Unfortunately, there are still new cases daily and many healthcare workers contracted the disease in the line of duty.
Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, a Davao Oriental hospital is under temporary closure now after 33 of its healthcare staff contracted COVID-19. The said hospital is the Davao Oriental Provincial Medical in Mati City.
According to Provincial Health Officer Dr. Reden Bersaldo, the said Davao Oriental hospital will be temporarily closed for 10 to 14 days while it tries to curb the transmission of COVID-19 in the building.
Based on the report, Bersaldo added that during the temporary closure, the hospital will not cater admission and as well as emergency cases. Thus, the public is advised to turn to other district hospitals or clinics nearest to them.
A decontamination was already conducted by the Bureau of Fire Protection and the staff of the hospital in the area. Also, all the remaining employees are under isolation and were tested. Out of the 33 who contracted the disease, 7 have already recovered.
