ABS-CBN, TV5 PARTNERSHIP – Media giant ABS-CBN Corp. partnership with TV5 allowed “ASAP Natin ‘To” to be aired on free TV again, how are the ratings?

The partnership of media giant ABS-CBN Corporation and it former rival TV5 allowed simulcasting of programs “ASAP Natin ‘To” and “FPJ: Da King”, including TV5’s affiliate Cignal TV, a satellite TV company. This was made possible through a block time or airtime leasing deal which started last January 24.

Now that the longest-running variety show in th Philippines has already began airing in the Kapatid network, how did it performed based on ratings? According to AGB-NUTAM, ASAP registered 1.4% and 1.9% in A2Z and TV5, respectively.

It’s rival shows in GMA of the time slot, the All-Out Sundays (AOS), recorded 5.8%. However, the debut of ASAP in TV5 is on top of the trending topics in social media over the weekend.

Meanwhile, FPJ: Da King also recorded 1.9% in TV5 and 2% in A2Z. And GMA’s Wagas and Dear Uge registered 5% and 4.8%. For February, ASAP is gearing up for their 26th-anniversary presentation and a birthday bash for Concert King Martin Nievera.

President and CEO of Cignal and TV5, Robert Galang, said in a statement that the block time deal “marks the start of greater cooperation among our various industry players and begins a new era of partnership.”

ABS-CBN’s bid for a fresh franchise has been junked and without this, their operation has been stopped. They have wide followings on social media but only limited when it comes to airing their contents. Previously, lawmakers filed petitions seeking grants for the corporation to have a new franchise.
