14-Day Quarantine in Facility / Hotel May Be Adjusted

14-DAY QUARANTINE – The previously mandated 14-day facility-based quarantine of returning Filipinos in the Philippines may be shortened now.

A lot of changes took place in the Philippines due to the COVID-19 pandemic. This pandemic is the biggest global concern now and over 200 countries and territories across the globe have recorded cases of the said disease.

In the Philippines, face-to-face classes are halted due to the threats of the disease. Instead, blended learning is implemented in schools. It is through modules and online classes that students learn.

Community quarantine measures are still up in the country. It is now a protocol to wear a face mask and practice social distancing when going outdoors.

Also, Filipinos who are returning to the Philippines can’t be with their families right away. They have to undergo a 14-day quarantine. It can be done in a facility or in a hotel. They have to undergo COVID-19 testing as well.

Meanwhile, based on a report on ABS-CBN News, the 14-day quarantine mandated in a facility or in a hotel for Pinoys returning in the Philippines may be shortened.

According to the report, if the returning Filipino would test negative in the second COVID-19 test, he or she would be turned over to the local government unit and can finish the remaining of the 14-day quarantine at home.

The 2nd COVID-19 testing will be conducted on the 5th day since the arrival of the Filipino. Reportedly, under the new rule, the government will shoulder the expenses of the 2nd COVID-19 test of the returning Filipino.
