Fortunately, the police did not shoot the tricycle driver for thinking it has a bad motive for slamming the checkpoint sign. He was later caught and taken to the police station.
According to the barangay official, it appears that the tricycle driver was nervous when he saw the checkpoint and found out that he did not have a valid vehicle document.
The police advise motorists not to be confused and scared when they see a checkpoint because it is also for them. Checkpoint operation is conducted to apprehend riding in tandem, motorcycle riders with no vehicle documents, and illegal drug smugglers.
