Pasig Checkpoint Arrested Motorcycle Rider After Founding Crystal Meth
P1.3 million worth of crystal methamphetamine was discovered from a motorcycle rider who was apprehended at a checkpoint due to side mirrors.
Authorities seized about P1.3 million worth of suspected illegal drugs called “shabu” at a checkpoint in Brgy. San Miguel, Pasig City this Monday. According to authorities, they flagged down a motorcycle because it did not have a side mirror and license plate.
They also noticed that the rider tried to avoid the checkpoint but was stopped by one of the policemen. While the rider was searching for a motorcycle license and registration, they noticed the packages inside his bag.
When the bag was opened, five packages of suspected crystal methamphetamine weighing 200 grams were exposed to the police. A 20-year-old motorist was arrested just outside the area.
Police are still investigating where he came from and where he will take the large amount of drugs he was carrying. The suspect will be charged with violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Acts.
Meanwhile, Philippine National Police (PNP) are urged to intensify searches at checkpoints due to unfazed drug smuggling and trading in the country. President Rodrigo Duterte is still on fire against illegal drug traders and users and criminal activities.
