Binibining Pilipinas competition resumes
The Binibining Pilipinas coronation night is set to happen in April after the pageant organization had to postpone the event due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Beauty pageants in the Philippines also took a halt amid the health crisis in the country. For almost a year, fans and candidates of Bb. Pilipinas waited for the coronation night to happen.
Based on the report in Manila Bulletin, the national pageant is set to take place on April 17, 2021. A photo exhibit featuring the national costumes of the candidates from around the Philippines was held to start the series of events prior to the pageant night.
The said event was graced by International 2019 Patch Magtanong, Binibining Pilipinas Executive Committee member Raymond Villanueva, Uniprom Inc. OIC Irene Jose, and Binibining Pilipinas official photographer Raymond Saldana.
The photos of the candidates in their colorful and amazing national costumes are displayed at the Gateway Mall from January 22 to 31, and at the Upper Ground floor of Ali Mall from February 1 to 14.
Along with the opening of the photo exhibit, a Facebook Live was held hosted by Patricia Magtanong. The panel, composed of 2019 and Best in National Costume winner Emma Mary Tiglao; and pageant writers/bloggers Voltaire Tayag and Jesson Capuchino, discussed each national costume of the candidates.
For the coronation night, Binibining Pilipinas Charities Inc. head Stella Marquez Araneta said in a statement that the event will be done under the “new normal” setting.
“We share your excitement as we see the candidates in action again, and we look forward to your continuous support,” she said.
