BPCI decides Binibining Pilipinas 2020 to be postponed indefinitely.

BINIBINING PILIPINAS 2020 – The 57th edition of Binibining Pilipinas is indefinitely postponed due to the pandemic coronavirus disease.

The calendar of activities for Binibining Pilipinas 2020 was supposed to be the following:

  • February 14, 2020 – Talent Competition
  • March 17, 2020 – Press Presentation
  • April 15, 2020 – Fashion Show
  • April 18, 2020 – Parade of Beauties

However, due to the public health crisis the world is currently facing. events which gather large crowd are suspended and that includes the said beauty pageant. The events were moved to another date from the original but since ECQ hasn’t been lifted yet, Bb. Pilipinas Charities Inc. (BPCI) released statement that this year’s Binibining Pilipinas is postponed indefinitely.

The statement says:

“BPCI recognizes the pressing and urgent need to protect the health and safety of the candidates, their families and friends, all the passionate pageant supporters, and the general public. Mindful of the potential and serious risks, BPCI has decided to postpone the Binibining Pilipinas 2020 Pageant indefinitely.”

The organization fully supports the mission of the government to curb the spread of COVID-19. The re-scheduled events, to which the date is yet to be announced, will accordingly still be depending on the guidelines and regulations from the authorities.

For this year, the organization has lost the Miss Universe title. Their 40 official candidates will be competing for titles such as Bb Pilipinas International, Bb Pilipinas Intercontinental, Bb Pilipinas Globe, Bb Pilipinas Grand International, and Bb Pilipinas Supranational.

In the previous edition, here are the set of winners and titleholders:

  • Miss Universe Philippines 2019: Gazini Ganados
  • Bb Pilipinas International 2019: Bea Patricia Magtanong
  • Bb Pilipinas Intercontinental 2019: Emma Tiglao
  • Bb Pilipinas Globe 2019: Leren Mae Bautista
  • Bb Pilipinas Grand International 2019: Samantha Lo
  • Bb Pilipinas Supranational 2019: Resham Saeed
