Vice Ganda Shady Comment, Is This About Harry Roque’s Statement?

Did Vice Ganda just throw shade against presidential spox Harry Roque?

VICE GANDA – “May kilala akong clown,” says Vice Ganda in a shady statement he expressed playfully on live television on Wednesday, January 20.

Presidential Spokesperson Roque’s statement created a loud buzz online as he told the people to not be picky about the brand of COVID-19 vaccine. The government has already acquired 25 million doses of Sinovac’s vaccine, 17 million doses from British drugmaker AstraZeneca, and 30 million doses of Indian-made Covovax vaccine.

In a social media post, Kapamilya superstar Vice Ganda said, “Sa sabong panlaba nga choosy tayo e sa bakuna pa kaya. Ano to basta may maisaksak lang?! Vaklang twoooaahhh!!!”

Seemingly taking a swipe at this statement, Roque said during a briefing that there are a lot of Filipinos who needed vaccination which is why they don’t have to be choosy. They must also consider that vaccines have limited resources. He even added that if they cannot trust the experts, they can’t trust comedians.

And with this, on national TV on Wednesday, Vice Ganda expressed something intriguing that caught attention. Playfully, after a Tawag Ng Tanghalan contestant performed “Clown” by Emeli Sandé, the comedian associated it with something.

“Pero ako, di ako clown, I am a comedian, at may kilala akong clown. I am a comedian, you are the clown,” the Kapamilya comedian said. Vice Ganda did not mention a specific individual but people speculated that it could be his clap back to Roque’s shady “comedian” statement before.

This exchange is amid the controversy of the preferred vaccine of the Philippine government. Sinovac is the second most expensive vaccine, however, it has a low efficacy rate which is unlike the others that has low price but with 90% efficacy rate.
