Male Netizen Shared Photos of Knee-Deep Flood Inside His Home

A male netizen has posted the photos of his home submerged in rising floodwaters in Talisay City, Negros Occidental.

On Saturday (January 9, 2020), several towns in the province of Negros Occidental have been submerged in floodwaters due to the torrential rains and moderate to at times heavy rains. The massive flooding displaced thousands of residents.

A Facebook user named Austin Salameda has shared the photos of his house while the floodwaters continue to increase. The post is now circulating online and garnered various reactions from the netizens.

Salameda narrated that the floodwater started to increase on Friday evening (January 8, 2020). He tried to save his important items such as candles, emergency lights, and electronic devices after an ankle-deep water break into their house.

Austin has also warned the public to unplug all electronics, unchain pets, and prepare lights. Eventually, the flood waters increased and already knee-deep outside of their home. The flooding subsides around 7:00 am today and started cleaning.

UPDATE (7:00am Jan 9): flooding has subsided in our area, we’re safe and cleaning up.

UPDATE (12:00am Jan 8): flood is knee deep just outside our street. home is slightly elevated so the water inside is ankle deep only. Pets are on the second floor. Electronics elevated. Candles and emergency lights at the ready. Phones charging while there is still electricity.

If staying in your homes tonight, Unplug and raise all electronics + all valuables in secure places. Unchain and uncage all pets – if they can be placed in the safety inside your homes, please do so. Prep flashlights and candles. Charge phones and needed electronics for communication while there’s light.

It’s gonna be a fvckin long night for us. Menlo Village 3, Talisay has UPDATE: KNEE level flood as of this writing (12:04 am) and rising. Some neighbors who are living closer to the river have evacuated to elevated places.
