Operation of COVID-19 Drive-Thru Testing Center in Manila Resumed

The COVID-19 drive-thru testing center at Quirino Grandstand in Manila finally resumed after a 2-week holiday break.

On Monday (January 4, 2021), the COVID-19 drive-thru testing center in Manila has reopened after taking a two-week holiday break. A lot of motorists including non-Manila residents lined up for a free serology test.

Aside from the drive-thru test, the walk-in COVID-19 serology test in hospitals including Gat Andres Bonifacio Memorial Medical Center, Ospital ng Tondo, Justice Jose Abad Santos General Hospital, Ospital ng Sampaloc and Ospital ng Maynila is now made available to public.

The serology test in both testing centers and hospitals were free-of-charge. It can be remembered that Manila City government required the residents who came from provinces to undergo a swab test before entering the town before the holiday celebration.

The new measure aims to prevent the further spread of the coronavirus disease in the country especially after a lot of people returned to their respective provinces during the celebration of Christmas Season.

Some testing and quarantine facility in Metro Manila are full due to the new measure. The patients need to stay at the testing facility while waiting for the COVID-19 test results.
