Paulo Avelino dedicated his MMFF 2020 Best Actor Award to his son
Metro Manila Film Festival 2020 Best Actor Paulo Avelino explained the reason why he dedicated his award to his son Aki.
In a portion of the speech of Paulo, he said, “this is for you, Aki”. This has touched many hearts as they saw a father dedicating his achievement to his son.
However, when his former partner LJ Reyes, who is now the partner of Bubble Gang star Paolo Contis, was asked about their son and his relationship with his father, the actress was aloof in answering this.
There were also those netizens who bashed him because of what he said when he accepted his Best Actor Award. Some even said that what Aki needs is a father figure and not his trophy.

In line with this, Paulo Avelino revealed the reason why he dedicated his award to his son, based on the article from Bandera. “Dinedicate ko yung award kay Aki siguro kasi lahat naman ng ginagawa ko para sa taong minamahal ko,” he said.
He added that he is not a materialistic person and that he has simple ambitions in life. Those people he loves are his inspiration.
“Kung wala sila malamang hindi na rin siguro ako umaarte ngayon or wala na rin akong ginagawa so kaya dinededicate ko yung award ko kay Aki,” the actor stressed.
Paulo also expressed that he wants to be an inspiration to other artists, especially to those who are new in the industry.
