Nadine Lustre versus Viva: Legal Counsel Says Contract Is “Really Oppressive”

The legal counsel of Nadine Lustre to prove that Viva’s contract is oppressive.

NADINE LUSTRE – Atty. Lorna Kapunan, legal counsel of Nadine Lustre says Viva’s contract is oppressive and she will prove it along with violations.

Actress and singer Nadine Lustre have floating issues with Viva Artists Agency which started when she terminated her contract. Since her contract is still up until 2029, Viva decided to file a lawsuit against her. Viva boss Vic Del Rosario stressed that under her contract, she is not allowed to appear in movies of a different company.

Accordingly, she violated her ‘agency and management contract’ with VAA’ and “contracted independently with advertisers, promoters, and other third parties, disregarding her exclusive contract with Viva”.

Now, in a statement from Atty. Lorna Kapunan, she explained that an agency agreement can be terminated by the principal at all times. They also target to prove to Viva that her future and reputation now is not just because of them.

“The contract is really oppressive, ‘no? She entered when she was 15 years old and extend sila nang extend without explaining to Nadine hanggang 2029 ang kontrata niya,” the legal counsel said. She also dismissed the valid contract that Viva is insisting as it is accordingly incorrect. She added, “The contract was terminated in October.”

Moreover, “Viva had nothing to do with it at hindi naman tama na hihingi sila ng 40 percent… gumawa naman sila ng effort.”

Viva has been in the industry for nearly 4 decades already and this is the first time they encountered a complaint from one of their managed artists. Lustre is the first artist to have questioned a contract with Viva. They will accordingly prove how “wrong” and “oppressive” Viva is.
