Actress-singer Nadine Lustre slammed those who are talking about “Filipino Resiliency”, is this for actress-host Angel Locsin?
Amid the calamity, Angel shared a post on her Instagram account about resiliency. Apparently, she intends to inspire her fellow Filipinos to be strong amid typhoon Ulysses. However, her post did not sit well with some netizens.
Angel was accused of just using her platform for her own agenda while a netizen stressed that resiliency should not be glorified in times like this. Following this, Nadine shared a post on her Instagram account as she talked about resiliency also.
“Our country has been thru so much issues (calamity, pandemic, economy, job losses) and it upsets me so much when people pull out “Filipino Resiliency” as a quick fix,” the actress-singer said.
She stressed that the said trait is something to proud of but this should not be used in order to hide the real problem. Nadine Lustre also expressed that she sympathizes with those who are suffering amid the crisis. “Our country deserves so much better than this,” she added.
The actress-singer also expressed these intense words for those who are just seeing the heartbreaking news but are not so effected.
“Now if you’re scrolling on your phone & seeing all the heartbreaking news but really dgaf cuz you’re not so much affected by the all stuff, PLS check your privilege,” Nadine said.
The female celebrity has set the comment section to “limited”, so, only the closest of her friends can comment on her post and they agreed with what she said.
