Actor and comedian Dennis Padilla talks about his long-time partner
DENNIS PADILLA – Veteran comedian Dennis Padilla narrates love story with his long-time partner who’s 23 years youngers than him.
Julia, Leon, and Claudia are the children of actor and comedian Dennis Padilla with former actress Marjorie Barretto. However, several years of being together, their relationship did not work out. And right after, he met 23 years old then Linda Gorton.
In his narration during an interview, he was 46 years old when she met him through a common friend. She’s taking a vacation here in the Philippines and during such time, he pursued her. They quickly fell in love with each other and by the time she is about to return to Australia, they never decided to end their relationship.
He shared, “Sabi ko, ‘No, December, before Christmas, I’ll visit you and stay there until my birthday in February.’ So siyempre, nag-save muna ako ng baon ko, ng pamasahe… So, nagtuloy ang relationship namin.”
July 2009 when he tried to convince her to stay in Philippines. He explained to her before, “Sabi ko, ‘If we will be together, it’s better na dito na sa Pilipinas. Number one, I have a stable job in the Philippines. Number two, I’ll be earning more.'”
Meanwhile, the huge age difference between has accordingly never became a problem. What made their relationship successful is being giving to each other. They are together for 12 years already and he hopes that she is really the one. He is now 58 years old and to him, it is his “last card” of his life.
They are blessed with two children – Gavin, 8 years old and Maddie, 4 years old. Also with them is AC, Linda’s 15-year-old daughter.
