Jane de Leon Darna project updates revealed
In 2021, the Jane de Leon Darna project is set to push through, however, there are some changes to the prior plans.
Darna fans and the supporters of Jane have been anticipating for this movie project to happen. Before the role landed on her palm, this went through a lot as it was first offered to Angel Locsin and Liza Soberano.
Both of them had to back out because of health reasons. Then, there was also a change when it comes to the director after Erik Matti resigned. Following the introduction of Jane as the new Darna, the shooting has started.
However, due to the pandemic, the production stopped. Reportedly, the shooting has already reached for 15 days.
Fortunately, the Jane de Leon Darna project will continue next year but it has to undergo some changes. A source of Bandera revealed that it will not be as a movie but as a teleserye. It was said that it is because the TV production is easier to do than in the now needed in a movie.
Since reportedly it will be on TV, the script needed some revision to fit for the small screen. The source has not confirmed yet if who will be the director for the teleserye as Direk Jerrold Tarog’s contract was for the movie.
He can still do the teleserye but there’s a lesser possibility since the director is set to do a movie in 2021 with Benjamin Alves titled Quezon. It is also still unsure if the scenes taken before the pandemic will be carried to the TV series format.
“Maraming fight scenes sa Darna, maraming talents maraming big scenes kaya mahirap ituloy sa limitadong tao lang,” the source of the entertainment news site shared.
Based on the article, the Jane de Leon Darna project is set to air first on iWant TFC in 2021 before it will be shown on A2Z and Kapamilya Channels.
