According to the investigation, it all started with boga which is known as an improvised canon made of bamboo which is used to make noise during the new year. The cop came in to arrest Frank who appeared to drunk while shooting the boga. His mother intervened and put herself in the middle hugging her son until the shooting happened.

The statement also noted the previous cases of the cop which included homicide cases in recent years and a history of grave misconduct. She added pleading to not let people be divided due to this incident:

“May those who wish to downplay what happened by creating discord among us never succeed in stripping us of our humanity. May we find anchorage in our common human response to these deaths: Kinilabutan tayo, nabasag ang puso natin, mali ito.”

She also said that she is one with the people who seek reforms in PNP and with those who cry justice for the slain Gregorios. In the video, the cop’s young daughter witnessed everything and was even heard shouting “my father is a policeman” at Sonya who mocked it. It seemingly triggered him and said to the old woman “Putang ina mo gusto mo tapusin kita ngayon ah?” as he followed it by taking out his gun and pull the trigger.
