Cops Arrest Delivery Rider Over Attempt to Proliferate Illegal Drugs in Davao City Jail

A food delivery rider has been arrested by the police authorities over alleged proliferation of illegal drugs in Davao City Jail.

Food delivery employees has been also dubbed as frontliners for delivering food and working hard amid the coronavirus pandemic. The riders make the life of their customers more convenient and comfortable.

Earlier this week, a food delivery worker has been arrested after attempting to proliferate illegal drugs inside of Davao City Jail. The suspect has been nabbed at Gate 1 during frisking and inspection.

The rider is supposed to visit his uncle at the jail to bring foods and medicines but the jail guards noticed that the medicines were tampered. The guards saw some medicines attached to the scotch tape and discovered suspected illegal drugs.

The jail guards immediately reported the incident at Talomo Police Station. The cops seized 17 sachets of illegal substance, which has been placed inside the packaging of legit medicines. The recover illegal drugs is worth P27, 000.

The unnamed delivery employee would face violation of RA 9165 or Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
