Senator Manny Pacquiao Installed as President of the Ruling PDP-Laban National Party

SENATOR MANNY PACQUIAO – The boxer-turned-senator is now the president of the ruling PDP-Laban National Party.

The ruling political party in the Philippines now is the PDP-Laban National Party or the Philippine Democratic Party-People’s Power. It is the political party of President Rodrigo Roa Duterte.

The PDP-Laban was founded in 1982. It is the ruling political party since 2016 when Pres. Duterte won the presidential election in a landslide vote.

Recently, the PDP-Laban installed a new set of public servants to lead the ruling party. The outgoing president is Senator Koko Pimentel.

Based on a report on ABS-CBN News, Senator Manny Pacquiao is the new president of the PDP-Laban National Party. The party’s executive vice president is House Speaker Lord Allan Velasco.

The oath-taking of the new President and Executive Vice President of the political party took place in their fellowship night in Quezon City. According to the report, Sen. Pacquiao promised a “fair but firm” leadership of the party.

New PDP-Laban National Party President Senator Manny Pacquiao take is as “an immense honor and responsibility” to be given the position. According to him, by God’s grace, he will not waste the opportunity.

As for Velasco, he was offered to be the secretary general of the political party but he refused to take the post. According to him, there are a lot of things in the House of Representatives that he needs to focus on.
