Policeman, Two Suspects Injured In Laguna Gunfight
LAGUNA GUNFIGHT – The PNP recently said that a policeman and two suspects aboard a motorcycle were injured in a gunfight in Calauan, Laguna.
The Philippine National Police identified the injured cop as Police Staff Sergeant Diosdado Casupang Jr.
Initial probe showed that the two suspects allegedly robbed a Crisanto delos Santos along the national road of Barangay Lamot at about 7:30 PM. The suspects fled using the victim’s motorcycle.
The cops conducted a hot pursuit operation and were able to find the suspects at Purok 3, Barangay Balayhangin at 3:15 AM. The two suspects fired at the officers, which resulte in a brief firefight.
The injured cop and suspects weere brought to the nearest hospital for treatment.
Based on the report, retrieved from the scene were .45 pistol, caliber .38 revolver, the stolen motorcycle, and another motorcycle from the suspects.
PNP chief General Debold Sinas commended the PNP Highway Patrol Group for the response to the incidents.
“Police operations and crime prevention through patrolling and strengthened police visibility are the doable actions that form the backbone of the overall PNP mission to serve and protect the people,”
