Severe Flooding in Cagayan Province Death Toll Rose to 9
Cagayan Governor reported that at least 9 residents died due to the severe flooding, which causes devastation in Cagayan province.
On Saturday (November 14, 2020), Cagayan Gov. Manuel Mamba reported that the death toll in Cagayan province has already rose to 9 due to the unprecedented flooding caused by heavy rainfall.
The province governor said that Typhoon Ulysses triggers rainfall that washed down from the provinces of Quirino, Nueva Vizcaya, Ifugao, Kalinga and Isabela, which causes Cagayan River to spill in several towns and municipalities.
Mamba said that there was no typhoon signal in the province even after Ulysses leaves the Philippine Area of Responsibility, which causes severe flooding in Metro Manila especially in Marikina City.
The government official said that 24 towns in the province have been affected by the unprecedented flooding after Magat Dam released excess water. The government asked the Dam to limit the release of waters to ease the flooding.

“Overwhelmed po talaga ang ating mga evacuation centers, overwhelmed din po talaga ang ating mga rescuers because we are already rescuing last week pa ho ito no dahil may mga local flooding din po kami dito – localized flood prior to this. Kaya lang ito po ay malawakan na po ito,” Mamba said.
