Viral Photos of Cagayan Province in Deep Flood Now

PHOTOS OF CAGAYAN – Residents in Cagayan are asking for help as the province is submerged in flood.

Typhoon Ulysses went beyond the expectation. It brought heavy rainfall to several areas in the Philippines and left a lot of cities and provinces suffering from flood.

Residents of Rizal and Marikina climbed the rooftops of their houses to escape the rising water level. There were a lot of children and elders who had to brave the rain at the rooftops amid the onslaught.

In Marikina, Mayor Marcy Teodoro said that preventive evacuation took place but areas that were not usually flooded before was reached by the flood. The local government unit has 50 rubber boats but those were not enough for all the residents to be rescued.

Mayor Teodoro asked help from the national government for the rescue of his constituents. According to him, aerial rescue was needed as the residents are already on top of their houses.

Catanduanes faced landslide and flood as triggered by Typhoon Ulysses. It has yet to recover from Typhoon Rolly when Ulysses entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR).

However, there is another province greatly struck by Typhoon Ulysses – Cagayan. Since midnight, photos of Cagayan province being submerged in flood are circulating on social media. Posts asking for help for the residents also went viral.

Many residents climbed their rooftops as the water level rose. Some posts stated that Magat Dam which is one of the biggest water sources in the country released a huge amount of water which contributed to the flooding.
