Rabiya Mateo talked about her father
Miss Universe Philippines 2020 Rabiya Mateo revealed the feeling she has for her father after he “abandoned” them.
In interviews after she was crowned as the MUP 2020, the Ilongga beauty queen shared that her father left them when she was just a young kid. Just like her fellow beauty queen Gazini Ganados who was able to reconnect with her father after she was crowned, Rabiya is also hoping that the same thing will happen to her.
In a recent interview with Tim Yap, Rabiya mentioned that the really thinks that it was her father’s plan to leave them. Her father Syed Mohammed Abdullah Moqueet Hashmi studied Medicine in the Philippines in the 1990s.
He and Rabiya’s mother were schoolmates at Fatima College. They fell in love with each other and had to children. Rabiya has a younger sibling.
Thinking about being “abandoned” by their father, the Ilongga beauty queen said that she has no ill-feeling towards him. She even shared her advice to those who are in the same situation as her.
“If there will be one advice that I would like to give, never try to plant any hatred or anger over your biological dad,” she said. For her, having animosity will ruin one’s perspective in life. She added that it is better to understand the situation even though it may be hurtful.
“Even though you think there is no acceptable reason to have that kind of situation. Always try to see things differently and always choose to be kind,” she added.
Rabiya Mateo shared that her father just suddenly stopped communicating with them after he went to the US. Her mother even tried to contact her father’s brothers but they also left.
