Albay Mayor Krisel Lagman-Luistro Anticipates No Electricity Until December Due to Typhoon Rolly, Province Seeks Help
ALBAY PROVINCE – Mayor Krisel Lagman-Luistro anticipates no electricity until December in the province due to the effects of Typhoon Rolly.
Last weekend, Typhoon Rolly hits the country and causes devastation in different regions. The tropical cyclone displaced thousands of residents and damaged numerous properties and establishment.
Rolly is considered as the world’s strongest storm this year and the most powerful typhoon to hit the country since Super Typhoon Yolanda hits the Philippines in 2013. The weather disturbance also triggers floods and landslides.
Tabaco City Mayor Luistro reported that the powerful typhoon left thousands of residents homeless and causes a damage amounting P2 billion. She also said that the town needs food, water, and housing materials.
Luistro also said that St. John The Baptist Church and other heritage in the town were not spared from the wrath of the ferocious typhoon. The electricity and communication are still down as of this writing.
