Poor Banig Vendor Earns the Sympathy of Public
The heartbreaking photos of a poor banig vendor goes viral online and earned the sympathy of the social media users.
Over the past few months, many Filipino people are struggling with their finances after losing their jobs and livelihoods due to the effects of the coronavirus pandemic. The virus does not only affect the public’s heath but also the global economy.
A Facebook user named Beanalyn Cagtas Chavez has shared the heartbreaking photos of a poor vendor selling ‘banig’ or mat along the road. The photos spread like a wildfire online and earned reactions from the netizens.
In the photos, it can be seen that the man seems to be tired and exhausted. He looks sad and struggling with his life especially during this time of coronavirus pandemic. The guy was just sitting beside the street while holding his mats.
Chavez saw the vendor along Ewa Dumoy in Davao City and encouraged the public to help the poor man. She is also calling the attention of Raffy Tulfo and Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho to help the guy.
