Spread Love, Not Hate: Isko Moreno Orders Removal Of Anti-Red Tarps

Manila Mayor Isko Moreno Says We Should Spread Love, Not Hate

SPREAD LOVE, NOT HATE – Recently, a tarpaulin hanging on a footbridge near the US Embassy along Roxas Boulevard went viral.

The Duterte administration has been vocal about its stance on communism in the country. Likewise, officials from the military and police have warned the public about “activist” groups that are merely a front for the communists.

In Fact, the AFP had recently warned actress Liza Soberano from having ties with Gabriella Youth. According to Lt. Gen Antonio Parlade, Soberano could still “abdicate the group”.

Meanwhile, the tarpaulin says that members of the CPP-NPA-NDF are “persona-non-grata” in Metro Manila. Along with this, a hotline of the PNP listed on the tarpaulin along with the logo of the PNP.

However, the Manila Public Information Office said that Mayor Isko Moreno had already ordered its removal. Furthermore, the Manila Mayor urged residents to spread love, not hate, especially amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Meanwhile, The National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF – ELCAC) denounced being “directly involved” with putting up the tarpaulin. However, in a statement issued yesterday, the NTF-ELCAC said:

“The NTF-ELCAC fully supports and lauds this message of a people united in their disgust and rage against this communist terrorist group”

Additionally, Philippine National Police Chief Police General Camilo Pancratius Cascolan said the tarpaulin only showed the partnership with local groups in fighting communism. He explained that officers would never tolerate illegal activities and abuse of rebels.
