DepEd School Calendar, Activities For School Year 2020-2021

DEPED – The Department of Education (DepEd) released the adjusted school calendar and activities for the school year 2020-2021.

The Department of Education postponed the opening of the school year 2020-2021 due to the coronavirus pandemic. The health crisis has affected all the public and private sectors.

The agency allowed private schools to open their classes earlier, however, physical classes is not allowed. They also canceled all academic events that require mass gathering.

DepEd just released the school calendar and activities for the school year 2020-2021. Here are the important dates to note:

  • June 1 – Start for Teachers to Render Service
  • June 12 – Independence Day
  • June 23 – Department of Education Founding Anniversary
  • June 1 to 30 – Enrollment, Brigada Eskwela and Balik Oplan Eskwela
  • July 1 to 31 – Brigada Eskwela and Balik Oplan Eskwela
  • August 22 – Ninoy Aquino Day
  • August 1 to 29 – Brigada Eskwela and Balik Oplan Eskwela
  • August 31 – National Heroes Day
  • September 21 to 26 – Mental Health and Psychosocial Support Activities
  • September 28 to 30 – Pre-school opening assignments exploring foundational topics
  • October 1 to 3 – Pre-school opening assignments
  • October 5 – Start of Teaching and Learning Activities, Start of Academic Quarter 1, World Teacher’s Day
  • November 1 – All Souls Day
  • November 2 – Additional Special Non-Working Day
  • November 27 – Araw ng Pagbasa
  • November 28 – End of Academic Quarter 1
  • November 30 – Bonifacio Day
  • December 1 – Start of Academic Quarter 2
  • December 8 – Feast of the Immaculate Conception of Mary
  • December 19 – Start of Christmas Break
  • December 24 – Additional Special Non-Working Day
  • December 25 – Christmas Day
  • December 30 – Rizal Day
  • December 31 – Last Day of the Year

2021

  • January 1 – New Year’s Day
  • January 4 – Resumption of Classes
  • 3rd Week of January – NCAE (if allowed under IATF rules)
  • 4th week of January – Administration of NAT for Grade 12 (if allowed under IATF rules)
  • January 30 – Start of Early Registration
  • 1st Week of February – PEPT (if allowed under IATF rules)
  • 1st & 2nd Week of February – Supreme Pupil Government (SPG)/ Supreme Student Government (SSG) Election
  • February 6 – End of Academic Quarter 2
  • February 8 to 13 – Mid-Year INSET
  • February 15 – Start of Academic Quarter 3
  • February 12 – Chinese New Year
  • February 25 – EDSA Anniversary
  • April 1 – Maunday Thursday
  • April 2 – Good Friday
  • April 9 – Araw ng Kagitingan
  • April 10 – End of Academic Quarter 3
  • April 12 – Start of Academic Quarter 4
  • 3rd Week of April – Administration of Accreditation & Equivalency Test (if allowed under IATF rules)
  • May 1 – Labor Day
  • June 5 – End of Academic Quarter 4
  • June 7 to 11 – End of School Year Rites
  • June 11 – Last Day of the School Year
  • June 14 – Start of Summer Classes
  • July 23 – End of Summer Classes
