Lea Salonga Shares Snapshot of Her Baked Bread

LEA SALONGA – Pinay theatre actress Lea Salonga shared a snapshot of her baked bread on social media.

Filipina actress and singer Lea Salonga is renown across the world for her powerful voice and perfect pitch. She’s best known for her Tony Award-winning role in “Miss Saigon.”

Lots of people recognize her as the singing voice of Princess Jasmine from “Aladdin” and Fa Mulan for “Mulan.” She recently released her latest single “Dream Again.”

In a post on her Instagram account last September 21, Lea shared that she turned to baking as a hobby at home. She said her family enjoyed eating baked bread. She also uploaded snapshots of her bread on social media.

“We come together over one of the most basic things: bread. Home baked bread.”

“The members of my little family engage in different activities throughout the day (Nic is back in school now), but we do come together for meals which often includes this bread. It’s hearty and healing, and we all enjoy eating it,” she added.

Lea Salonga said she’s looking forward to sharing more home-baked bread with her family. “Here’s to many more loaves to come, and many more simple meals to share,” she wrote.

In an interview with yummy.ph last July, the theatre actress talked about her baking journey. She shared that she became fond of baking Japanese milk bread.

She disclosed that she found the recipe in the New York Times and she’s been practicing it with the help of Youtube tutorials. She also gave some advice to first-time bakers.

“If your first loaf is a fail, don’t let this discourage you from trying again. Look online for pro tips (there are a lot of them) as well as well-loved recipes. Once you get the hang of baking a basic loaf of bread, the possibilities are endless!”
