Here’s Reason Why Lea Salonga Became Fan of BTS
LEA SALONGA – Broadway star Lea Salonga revealed the reason why she became a fan of the phenomenal group BTS.
Filipina actress-singer Lea Salonga is widely known for her perfect pitch and the voice of 2 famous Disney Princesses Mulan and Jasmine of Aladdin. She’s also the first Asian woman to win a Tony Award.
The Broadway star recently shared her thoughts about the K-pop group BTS. She revealed that she’s fangirling over the South Korean group.
Lea Salonga’s revelation delighted BTS’ fans (known as ARMY). The phenomenal group caught her attention before, but it was their latest single “Dynamite” which sealed the deal.
In her Inquirer column, she said “I’ve fallen into a BTS rabbit hole, and no, I don’t need saving.” She disclosed that one of her “tita” friends made her notice the famous group.
“Maybe unintentionally, “Dynamite” is a response to everyone spewing hatred and bile in this terrible environment. BTS through this one song is lighting up the sky with positivity and love, comforting and cheering us on during this frightening time, and reminding us that there’s still beauty and goodness left in the world,” Lea shared.
In a post on her Facebook account last September 13, Lea Salonga declared her love for BTS’s V. She shared a Youtube link that recounts a scene from the group’s American Hustle Life. It can be seen in the video that the renowned academic mentor, Iris Stevenson, was praising V’s vocals.
“So watching this not only makes me feel inspired and happy (and yes, Kim Taehyung is my bias, y’all), but throws me back to when I heard similar words. Whatever your vocation or occupation, consider yourself blessed when you encounter that one person that tells you, “You have something, let’s help you figure out how to use it,” Lea wrote.
Yesterday, Lea Salonga revealed the reason why she became a BTS ARMY on her FB account. She shared a GIF and said, “Many of you that watched the Vogue video must’ve caught this. This. THIS. Their professionalism. Their refusal to settle for mediocrity. The desire to repeat until it’s exactly right. Wanna know why I’m a fan? This GIF says it all.”
