Amazing Hack on How to Recover Photos in Negative Film Goes Viral
A bored netizen finds a way on how to recover old photos in a negative film by using simple steps on your smartphone amazed netizens online.
Wayback to the years where high-tech and advanced smartphone cameras, and other modern cameras are not discovered yet, photographers only take pictures using basic cameras that were still using films and the process takes more than an hour, depending on the amount of film used.
Meanwhile, a bored netizen named Jh-Arland Pasion saw some negative film strips when he thought of rummaging through his house because of the free time caused by the lockdown.
“I searched for things in our house until I saw this old picture of my uncle Wayback 80’s or 90’s,” Jh-Arland said in his Facebook post.
Because he wanted to know if he could see the picture on the negative film strip, he tried to research online for the solution. Lucky for him, he saw the do-it-yourself tutorial on YouTube.

The Jh-Arland shared a step-by-step procedure on how to see the photo clearly on the negative film strip using only a smartphone and mobile application. He first the negative film strip will be placed on top of any touchscreen cellphone with only a white background.
Then take a picture of the negative film strip using another smartphone. Once the negative film strip has taken a clear picture, it will be edited using a photo editing app.
Eventually, Jh-Arland actually saw the original photo in the negative film that was previously only visible when it was being developed. With the help of Jh-Arland post, lots of people can now see the real image of their old negative films.
His Facebook post has gone viral on social media as it reaps 33k reactions and over 83k shares. Netizens thanked Jh-Arland for sharing the bright idea amid the COVID-19 lockdown.
