Contact Tracing For PH To Roll Out As More Establishments Apply For Use
CONTACT TRACING APP PH – Due to COVID-19, contact tracing has become one of the most important aspect of controlling the spread of the disease.
However, the Philippines has struggled with contact tracing to the point where the PNP would hire “chismosas” for contact tracing. Meanwhile, 7 months into the longest lockdown in the world, the Philippine Government said they would allocate P1 Billion for contact tracing efforts.
But, a contact tracing app called “StaySafe.ph” has provided promising results with several transportation terminals applying for its use. Previously, when riding on public transportation such as busses, you would need to fill up a form for contact tracing.
However, with the app, this would no longer be needed. According to testing czar Vince Dizon, the app would be used in public transport terminals such as the MRT and the LRT, and major bus terminals.

Sa mga susunod na linggo gagamitin na ito sa transpo centers tulad ng MRT, LRT sa bus terminal para magamit na talaga at mapabilis ang contact tracing at talagang magagamit ito para mapabilis natin ang response napakaimportante po ng ating tracing
But, the app previously had concerns regarding data privacy. But, as per the article, Dizon said the information of commuters would be kept secure:
Yung datos napupunta sa gobyerno sa Department of Health kaya makakasiguro po tayo at binabantayan po yan ng National Privacy Commission na magamit natin ang makabaong teknolohiya para mapabilis ang ating response
